Eagle Batching System

The Eagle Batching System
( the Eagle Demo is available on page 2
)
Command Alkon's
Eagle Batching controls have been proven reliable and effective in thousands of
concrete plants around the world. When you see how quickly an Eagle Batching
system can be installed at your ready-mix, pre-cast, or block plant, you'll know
why Command Alkon is the first choice of concrete producers around the world.
Easy to use - Even inexperienced plant personnel can quickly gain
confidence in operating the Eagle controls. You spend less time in training and
more time in production.
Reliable accuracy - The dedicated processor
and flash disk technology guarantee the quickest performance needed for rapid
scale sampling. This combination provides supreme accuracy every batch.
Batching your way - Separate controls are provided to select automatic or
manual batching and discharge for aggregate, cement, water, or admix.
Efficient truck loading - Reduce your truck charging time and increase
quantity/hour by tailoring batch discharge to each individual truck. The Eagle
retains loading rate information for up to 250 trucks.
Your inventory is accurate and secure - Key switch and password controls prevent
unauthorized batching against your inventory and selectable automatic "End of
Day" inventory reports document material usage for total accountability.
Quick and easy batch status
Every feature, from our context-sensitive help screen to a voice guiding the
operator, makes the Eagle controls easy to learn and operate. Each screen
clearly presents information to the next step he wants to take, and pushes a
button.
The Eagle terminal features a 15-inch VGA color monitor with large easy-to-read
characters to guide the operator step-by-step. The display gives the operator
all the information he needs, in clear, familiar terms, with color highlighting
for quick recognition.
The enhanced keyboard allows fast, error free entry of branch information.
Batching operations are selected by using a row of special function keys across
the top of the keyboard.
The clear voice produced by the Eagle guide the operator through the entire
batching and truck loading sequence, and instantly alerts the operator if a
plant malfunction occurs. This frees the operator to focus on plant production.
Speed + Accuracy =
Efficiency
The Eagle reduces under and over weighing errors giving consistent batches from
load to load. Mixed Mode Batching allows decumulative or accumulative aggregate
and cement weighing. Freefall Compensation is handled automatically during the
batching process. The Eagle Series compensates for moisture or absorption for
each individual aggregate. An optional Dynamic Moisture Control System can be
added to provide automatic compensation for each batch. Adjustments can be made
for absorbed moisture and free moisture.
The Eagle
Software saves production time by letting you set up the next batch while a
truck is loading. Automatic Split Batching is set based on your batcher
capacity. A maximum single batch size is entered for each mix design. If a
larger batch size is selected, the computer will automatically split drop the
required number of times up to 99 splits. You only have to set up the batch one
time.
The Repeat Batch feature saves batch set-up time if you are using the same mix
design for consecutive batches. You simply select the “repeat last batch”
function to instantly batch the next load. The Eagle can be programmed to select
from multiple mix designs automatically.
The brains of the system
Each computer/plant junction box is tailored to your specific plant.
Customization avoids confusion and allows you to maximize your space and the
Eagle’s capabilities.
The dust tight computer enclosure contains the computer, control relays, power
supply, and plant wiring terminal strip. All relays are both optically isolated
and individually fuse protected for ultimate reliability. The pilot light on
each relay, coupled with the built-in test probe, provides fast and accurate
diagnosis of problems.
All wiring and components are easily accessible by opening the front door. No
components are buried inside a chassis. You can replace fuses and relays in
seconds and continue batching automatically. You’re never shut down. You can
batch concrete even while troubleshooting.
The Eagle supports four serial devices. This will allow you to use the truck
call board, the remote scale read-out, and the temperature controls
simultaneously.
You have manual control
The Eagle manual control station is the industry leader in functionality, small
size and attractive styling. It serves as a complete and easy-to-use manual
backup for your plant. The large, lighted push-button controls are industrial
grade and oil-tight.
During automatic batches, these color-coded controls provide a lighted
indication of the outgoing signals as the batch progresses. Batch weights can be
printed and inventory adjusted whether batching automatically or manually.
The material and plant function names on the manual switch panel are customized
to match your plant and can be easily changed by your own personnel.
Reliable
installation, service, and training
Normal installation can be scheduled during the week or on the weekend - it’s
your choice. Our superior service professionals know concrete plants as well as
controls. They are “hands-on” problem solvers, not computer nerds. Command
Alkon’s service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Eagle Series is
designed so that you can make most repairs yourself, simply and quickly.
The standard installation also provides on-site operator training. In-depth
Eagle Batching Seminars are offered monthly at our Dallas office.
Single source supplier
Command Alkon offers you a complete line of batching, dispatching, truck
tracking and accounting systems. We give you access to the most comprehensive
equipment line in our industry...the one source for all of your batching
information management needs.
Reliable equipment, installed and serviced by people who understand your
business - that is our commitment to you.
One key metrication
The “Dual Units” batching requirements is a result of the U.S. Omnibus Trade and
Competitive Act of 1988, which requires Federal agencies to use the metric
system in all grants, procurements and other business related activities. With
the phase-in process, and non-government projects still calling for Customary
units, concrete plants will need to be able to provide loads in both units over
the next several years. The dual Units feature has been implemented to make the
Dual Units batching as painless as possible.
One touch metrication
The F12 key has been designated as the “Metric Toggle” key. You may switch
between Customary U.S. units and Metric units from most menus by simply pressing
the F12 key. No calculations are required of your staff -- the values are
converted automatically for you. This allows you to batch more accurately and
efficiently.
Reports and delivery tickets
may be viewed and printed in either Customary U.S. units or Metric (SI) units.
