MASTER TUBULAR FRAME CONVEYOR
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
|
CONVEYOR LENGTHS The model 361 Master Tubular Frame Conveyor is available in lengths from 20' to 375' in 5' increments. CONVEYOR WIDTHS
The belt widths
available are 18" to 36" standard conveyor belt widths. CONVEYOR FRAME Truss type, constructed entirely of tubular members - 2-7/8" dia. chords, and 1-11/16" dia. diagonals and wind bracing. Side frames are jig welded and are assembled into a box truss (39" depth) by bolt connected wind bracing. Head, tail and gravity take-up sections are factory assembled. Intermediate sections are shipped knocked down to save freight and cubage charges. (Factory assembly available at slight additional charge.) Head and tail sections are 5 ft. long, and stock lengths of intermediate sections are 5, 10, 15, and 20 feet. (Special length sections, to meet exacting conditions, are readily available.) Stockwidths are 18, 24, 30, 36, and 42 inches. Standard Widths also include 48, 54 and 60 inches.
Joint frames (with cross bracing) are provided between each section to serve as an assembly fixture and to add truss rigidity. Four bolts are provided at each chord (see diagrams), thereby allowing use of "drift pins ' for ease of assembly and erection.
Heavy duty, all steel welded type, individually turned and crowned to ensure true concentricity with the bore. The entire face of the pulley is machined. Pulleys are equipped with Taper-Lock and Q.D. hubs and bushings. OSHA and MSHA Pulley Guards and Tail Pulley Cage are standard.
On 18" through 42" widths, MARCO Series M15 - 4 1/2" dia rolls, with pre-lubricated ball bearings which require no further lubrication. Troughing idlers are spaced on 4' - 0" centers with two extra at the loading point; return idlers are spaced on 10' - 0" centers. 35o idlers are standard. Idlers of other types and spacing are available upon request, at prices which vary with specifications. On 48" through 72" widths, 5" dia. (or larger) roller bearings are used.
Screw type acid cleaned and plated, providing 21" adjustment. Gravity type take-up is optional at additional cost.
Optional but recommended in many cases. Vertical gravity take-up assemblies include two bend pulley assemblies and a sliding (take-up) pulley assembly with cage and slide rails. Take-up weight is not included. A shedding deck, equipped with gum rubber flashing, is mounted over sliding pulley to prevent entrance of material between belt and pulley.
"Plow type", equipped with gum rubber flashing, and is mounted in front of tail pulley to prevent entrance of material between return belt and pulley. The wiper is integral with the screw take-up, providing fixed relationship between vviper and pulley, regardless of take-up setting.
All the field assembly bolts are acid cleaned and plated.
The loading hopper is 5 ft. long, 8" in depth and is designed to appropriately center material on the belt. It is equipped with adjustable gum rubber flashing to prevent leakage. Hopper length can be extended to any dimension, resulting in continuous side skirts.
Heavy steel lugs provide a pin-jointed connection to either steel or timber supports. A sufficient quantity is provided for supporting on 60 ft. conveyor centers.
Spanability varies with load conditions, weight of material, belt width, accessories. etc.
Integral with shaft mounted reducer wherever possible.
Drive includes shaft mounted helical gear speed reducer (gears are enclosed and running in oil) driver and driven sheaves and vee belts. All drive components are selected to adequately transmit horsepower required. |
|
BACKSTOP When conditions indicate the belt and load will reverse under power failure, a backstop is provided. Backstop is mounted in the shaft mounted reducer, and runs in oil.
Horsepowers vary with capacity length and incline. Motor sizes are selected with ample safety factors to provide an efficient and reliable power source. 1800 RPM TEFC, Nema design "C", hi-torque, 3 phase, 60 cycle, 230-460 volt motors are considered standard. Other enclosures, and motors with other electrical characteristics, are also available.
The use of 35o troughing idlers on 4 ft. centers provides ideal conditions for the use of belts with synthetic fabrics. Strength of fabric, number of plies, and thickness of rubber top and bottom covers are combined to ideally satisfy the installation requirements.
OPTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS OSHA WALKWAY BEAMS (SUPPORTS) WITH TOE PLATE Walkway beams are structural channels (spaced on 5'-0" centers), with handrail supports and two strands of 1.66" O.D. galvanized tubular handrailing. Attachment hardware for top handrail is designed for "continuous grip". Included are 4" toe plate and plated assembly bolts. Walkway beams provide for 24" wide decking and are drilled for decking assembly. Entire walkway is designed to conform to MARCO interpretation of OSHA specifications, including requirement that "handrail shall be able to accept a 200 lb. force in any direction". Walkway beams are available for one, or both sides, of conveyor.
All steel, non-skid Grip-Strut decking. 24" wide (in two 12" widths), may be field tack-welded, or bolted to walkway beams. Decking is 14 ga. and available in 5 ft. and 10 ft. lengths. Included are plated assembly bolts and special washers.
Hinged conveyor housing is constructed of 18 ga. corrugated culvert sheets through 30" width. 16 ga. above 30" mounted on 16 and 14 ga. corrugated support bands respectively. Carrier belt is adequately covered, and troughing idlers can be observed without opening housing. Support bands are mounted with assembly bolts on 4'-8" ctrs., and each housing section is provided with hinges for independent raising and lowering. Covers and hands are heavily galvanized. Assembly bolts are acid cleaned and plated.
Formed 16 ga. sheet metal deck to divert carrier belt spillage away from return belt. Furnished with plated assembly bolts. 'While return belt covers are available as an option. they are generally not recommended for most installations.
Equipped with double rubber squeegee and adjustable tension spring, providing constant pressure on belt surface. Mounted under pulley to provide greatest efficiency.
Heavy duty, top quality "ruff-top" rubber lagging - can be furnished on either crown or flat face pulleys. Installed in multiples of 6", 8" and 10" widths to ensure conformity to crown face. Recommended on drive pulleys where there is a possibility of belt slippage. Slide lagging and vulcanized lagging optional.
A-frame supports and support towers are available to satisfy any supporting requirement. Appropriate supports furnished may be of tubular or structural construction. Assembly bolts are acid cleaned and plated.
